My friend, J.D. Roth gave me a copy of this book and it profoundly impacted my life for the better. It was out of print for some time so it was quite expensive. It looks as if it’s back on the market. I should stock up on them since I recommend it so often.
If you ever want a creative kick in the pants, this is it. My wife, Tali, and I read this together in small bite-sized pieces before bed for about a year. It was a pulling force that helped me to see my book through to completion. (And not stress over any deadlines or potential responses to the book!) If you’re a creative-type- get this book. If you’re not a creative-type, you probably are but just don’t know it. You should also get this book.
This book has a way of making you see truths for the first time as if they were obvious all along. Taleb’s writing style is a joy to read. I’ve had one family member describe him as arrogant. I suppose so, but since I agree with so much of what he has to say, I found his arrogance to be more humorous than off-putting. Like him or not, this book will reveal some extremely valuable insights that can help you judge reality for what it is. If you’re an intellectually curious person, you will enjoy this book!
